Maria and Francisco are proud parents of six children.
Francisco, a man of many trades, works as an agriculturist specializing in specialty coffee while also maintaining the fields in Sancachari. His days typically begin at dawn and end at dusk. He often carries his breakfast to the fields, usually arroz con leche or protein-rich foods to sustain him until lunch. At midday, his wife or children bring a meal to the fields. In the evenings, he returns home to have dinner with his family, where they discuss current events and organize plans for the following day. During the harvest season in June, July, and August, the entire family joins together to help Francisco pick coffee beans, wash, ferment, dry, and prepare them for shipping. Maria lives in Lima, where all her children attend school. She owns a convenience store and is completing her final year of culinary school. She works during the day and attends classes at night.

The oldest child, Jesi, is 34 years old and has two children: Tano, age 12, and Meledy, just 2 months old. Jesi is a business owner of a café and bakery in Lima with her husband, Freddy.

The second oldest, Efer, is 29 years old. He is an entrepreneur and business owner living in the United States.

The third child, Sam, is 26. He works at a reputable company and studies at night to earn his Certified Nurse Assistant degree while living in Lima.

Nayeli, the fourth child, is 22. She studies accounting at night while working as an accountant during the day. Her boyfriend, Young, is also an accountant and helps with his family’s carpentry business. Both live in Lima.

Samir, the fifth child, is 20 years old. He serves in the army and is also pursuing studies in psychology. Before his deployment, he helped Jesi with managing and growing her business.

The youngest, Loki, is 7 years old and currently in the second grade. He lives in Lima and dreams of becoming a businessman when he grows up.
